Sapa and Bac Ha are ideal destinations for a fantastic trek in Vietnam. Start in the cloud and fog of the towns, you will be delighted with stunning sunrise on the highland.

Detailed program

Day 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai by night train
Around 20:00 pm pick you up at hotel in Hanoi and transfer to Hanoi Railway Station to take the night train toward Lao Cai. Overnight on the train

Day 2: Sunday - Lao Cai - Bac Ha - Sapa (B, L, D)
(Notes: Bac Ha market is only opens on Sundays morning)
Arrival in Lao Cai train station around 6:00 am. A bus takes us to Bac Ha (70km) via scenic mountain roads. Breakfast at local restaurant, then explore the Sunday morning market of Bac Ha. This is the biggest market in the region and ethnic people from near and far villages flock to Bac Ha with horses carrying their products for exchange. Their colorful costumes create a stunning picture. Stroll around the market to stock up with local crafts and to get a glimpse into hill tribal culture in northern Vietnam. Overnight at hotel in Bac Ha.

Day 3: Bac Ha - Sapa – Cat Cat Village (B, L)
After breakfast, depart to Sapa town (110km) and arrive at your hotel around noon. Check into your room.
In the afternoon, trekking through the Cat Cat village, home to H’Mong ethnic people. They are excellent “tho cam” weavers (kind of brocade fabrics). “Tho cam” of Cat Cat village boasts special quality as it is dyed with natural colors, polished with beeswax and embroidered with unique designs. Cat Cat silvery jewels such as necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings are also well preferred for sophisticated techniques. A walk through this old village offers a glimpse into traditional customs and practices of the ethnic Black Hmong. Stop at a beautiful waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric plant that was built by the French during the colonial era in Vietnam. Back to Sa Pa. Overnight at the hotel in Sapa

Day 4: Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van (B, L, D) - light trekking
Breakfast at the hotel, and then we begin a trek through the beautiful Muong Hoa valley: after following the road about 2 km, we reach Y Linh Ho village home to Black H'mong ethnic people. Continue our transfer to Lao Chai village with beautiful views of terraced rice fields along the way. The guide will prepare a simple lunch (picnic style) for you. After lunch, we visit a Catholic church and explore local traditions and customs of the villagers. In the afternoon, we enter the heart of the Sapa valley, the Ta Van village home to Dzay ethnic people. Dinner and homestay overnight in Dzay (Giay) ethnic house.
Day 5: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Lao Cai (B, L)
Breakfast in the homestay, then we will begin a scenic hike through rice fields, waterfall and bamboo forests in Giang Ta Chai village, home to Red Dzao ethnic group. After visiting this village, we return to a house near the waterfall for lunch. After lunch, we hike to the main road where our vehicle is waiting to take us back to Sapa.
Depart from Sapa to Lao Cai. Along the way, we visit Ma Tra village inhabited by the smiling Black Hmong minority. Transfer to Lao Cai for night train to Hanoi. Overnight on train.

Day 6: Hanoi – Arrival
Early morning arrival at Hanoi train station around 5:30 am (suggested that you should take taxi to your hotel). End of our services.
